Đầu tiên bạn rửa sạch khoai tây và gọt vỏ ngoài. Sau đó cắt khoai thành những khoanh nhỏ vừa phải. Tiếp tục bắc một nồi nước để luộc chín khoai trong vòng 8 đến 10 phút cho khoai mềm hẳn, rồi vớt ra để ráo.
Sau đó cho khoai đã luộc chín vào một tô sạch rồi dùng muỗng hoặc tay nghiền nhuyễn khoai ra. Tiếp tục cho vào 1 muỗng cà phê tiêu, 1 muỗng cà phê muối rồi trộn đều hỗn hợp trên.
Chuẩn bị 1 chén phô mai sợi 100 gram, 20 lá hoành thánh tươi, muỗng và một chén dầu ăn. Đến công đoạn gói hoành thánh, bạn đặt miếng hoành thánh lên thớt theo hình thoi chiều chính diện, rồi cho vào nữa muỗng cà phê khoai nghiền và 1 muỗng cà phê phô mai sợi. Sau đó gấp miếng hoành thánh lại thành hình tam giác, dùng dầu ăn để miết các cạnh cho bánh không bị bung. Tiếp tục gấp hai cạnh bên lại ôm trọn phần nhân và xếp ra dĩa.
Bắc một nồi chảo ngập dầu, rồi từ từ thả các miếng hoành thánh vào chiên cho vàng đều thì lấy ra để ráo dầu. Cuối cùng bạn chỉ cần bày ra dĩa cùng với một chén chấm tương cà hoặc tương ớt là có thể dùng ngay.
